Sosuke Hitsugi (Japanese: 棺葬介 Hitsugi Sousuke) is a major character of the manga series Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi. He is a member of the distinguished Hitsugi Family as well as a member of the Knights of Light.
Appearance[]
Sosuke has black hair and wears glasses along with a pair of earrings. His attire consists of a white collar shirt that’s all the way buttoned up with a tie, black pants, black shoes, and a black trench coat. He also has a crest xr-cism tattoo on both of his forearms.[2]
Personality[]
Sosuke has a bit of an arrogant demeanor, not paying mind to how others perceive him. However, he is willing to help people out, as seen in his assistance in recovering Jack Joe, albeit indirectly. Despite his cockiness, he is seemingly kind to those around him. Sosuke does wrestle with being inferior to Kiyoshi Harai, declaring to Kiyoshi that he will surpass him and become a Cross Paladin.[3]
Plot[]
Background[]
Sosuke is a descendant of the distinguished Hitsugi Family.[4]
Relationships[]
Kiyoshi Harai[]
Sosuke considers Kiyoshi as a rival, although this rivalry is one-sided due to Kiyoshi viewing Hitsugi as a friend.
Abilities[]
As a former Class 1 exorcist and a newly appointed Grand Cross, Sosuke is a powerful combatant. He would have been top of his class had it not been for Kiyoshi Harai,[4] and can easily defeat super-class monsters with a single shot of his pistol.[5]
Expert Marksman: Sosuke is a highly skilled marksman, able to use his pistol to land a hit on Demon Lord Sata. It was strong enough to visibly irritate the demon lord, with Sata commenting that he had "bit of a backbone".[6] He could also take on an assault from the headmaster of the Exorcist Academy, a former Cross Paladin, as part of the Grand Cross Assessment Test with ease.[7]
Enhanced Durability: Sosuke is an incredibly resilient combatant, being able to endure an assault from Demon Lord Sata.[8]
Precept Power: Sosuke possesses a tremendous amount of precept power. During his training, he was able to create a giant orb of water and maintain it above his head for an unknown amount of time.[9] By the time of the Grand Cross Assessment Test, Kiyoshi stated that his precept power has increased dramatically.[10]
Equipment[]
Water Pistol: Sosuke uses a water pistol as his main weapon. He can use his exorcist technique to convert the air's moisture into holy water and load it into his gun. As long as the air isn’t completely dry, he has infinite ammunition.[14]
