Zangi Tosaka is a character from the Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi manga.

Appearance

Zangi is a man of average height with spikey hair that springs up in the middle. He has beard stubble underneath his chin.

Personality

Zangi is shown to be someone who cares for other people, as seen in his protecting other participants from losing in the first phase of the Grand Cross Assessment Test, even though it was an elimination round. He was also shown to be ambitious, continuing to take the Grand Cross Assessment Test even though he failed for nine years straight.

Background

Zangi's best friend was killed by a Demon Lord. As a result, though he initially had no desire to be an exorcist, he has since resolved to avenge his best friend by aiming to become a Grand Cross. However, Zangi has taken and failed the Grand Cross Assessment Test for nine years.

Synopsis

Zangi Tosaka is first seen as a participant for the Grand Cross Assessment Test. After protecting another participant, he nearly gets eliminated on the first phase until Kiyoshi Harai unexpectedly shows up and protects Zangi.

Zangi is later grouped with Kiyoshi and Sosuke Hitsugi for the second phase of the assessment test.

Abilities

Zangi's abilities seem to revolve around pentagrams:

	Cook: Zangi can summon an exorcist bird named Cook. It looks like a chicken with a pentagram on its belly and it wears sneakers. It can fly like a chicken, and it can make chicken sounds. However, Cook can also bark and behaves similarly to a dog with an excellent sense of smell. Cook can also transform to its Obliterator Mode after attaching itself to Zangi's arm to perform intense damage.
	Pentagram Shield: Zangi creates a pentagram to use as a shield.
	Pentagram Sword: Zangi creates a pentagram, and a hilt and a blade appear out of the pentagram.

Trivia

• Zangi's Character Design seems to be inspired from one of Shoichi Usui's old One-Shots; Sore Ike! Kakushi Command Ka, which he released in 2014. The main character from the One-Shot having the same hair & outfit as Zangi.
